Thank you to everyone who has completed the Architect Survey so far, we appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences and views.

We’ve had a great response but are keen to hear from as many architects as possible, so please do consider taking part if you have not already, and encourage your fellow registrants to respond to their email invite too.

The survey will remain open until noon on 18 September 2020.

The Architect Survey is part of one of the largest projects we have conducted and will inform our review of the competences architects need to enter, and remain on, the Architects Register.

The full programme of research informing our review includes:

  • A Call for Evidence open to any interested party
  • A survey emailed to all UK architects
  • A survey of employers of architects
  • Qualitative interviews with a sample of staff and students from Schools of Architecture
  • Consultations with other stakeholders such as relevant professional groups, client groups and insurers
  • Workshops to test the research findings

Our Call for Evidence was launched at the same time as the Architects’ Survey and will remain open until noon on 23 October 2020.  It seeks views and evidence from any interested parties on the current Criteria (educational standards) we set for UK architects and current systems for ensuring architects remain sufficiently competent as long as they are registered.
