Our 2019 Annual Report is now available to view here.

Take a look to find out what we achieved and the challenges we overcame in 2019. The report provides useful information on our structure and how we operate, along with a variety of facts and figures on our performance and for the Architects Register.

2019 was a demanding yet rewarding year, here are a few highlights:

  • We worked with a number of different organisations across the construction industry to produce the Raising the Bar report in response to the recommendations of Dame Judith Hackitt following the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
  • Work continued to prepare for the UK’s exit from the EU. This included issuing 734 EU and General Certificates, up from 223 in 2018.
  • We were very pleased to be able to prescribe six apprenticeship qualifications for the first time, opening up a brand new path to registration as an architect that aims to make the profession more accessible.
  • 2019 also saw an improvement in the diversity of the Architect Register. The gender split for architects under 30 was equal at 50% female and 50% male. Women also made up 44% of all new admissions to the Register in 2019.
