We have been asked by The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), our sponsoring department, to alert you to a survey they have launched into the usability of guidance on the Building Regulations, in particular the Approved Documents.

The survey is in response to a recommendation made by Dame Judith Hackitt in her Interim Report of her Review of the Building Regulations and Fire Safety.  Her recommendation is for the government to consider how the suite of Approved Documents could be structured and ordered to provide a more streamlined, holistic view while retaining the right level of relevant technical detail.

This is a useful opportunity for you to share your needs and how you use the guidance to help MHCLG improve the system in the future. The survey can be found here.

If you would like more information on Dame Judith Hackitt’s Independent Review of Buildings Regulations and her Interim Report it can be found here.
