As you might imagine, with circumstances around Brexit changing frequently and with minimal notice in recent weeks, providing an update on Brexit is challenging.

We want to give you clear, definitive and practical information that you can rely on. Since the referendum we have provided what information we could, when we could. This included providing regularly reviewed common question answers, guidance on Government information and advice on time sensitive actions you might need to make.

Our most recent communication was an email on 8 March providing advice on next steps and obtaining certificates for those wishing to register in another EU Member State before Exit Day (the day the UK is due to withdraw from the EU, previously 29 March 2019 and currently 12 April 2019).

In this email we explained that it typically takes around seven working days to process a request for the proof of qualification or registration often required for registering in another EU Member State. Though it can take longer during periods of high demand.

Although it’s not yet clear exactly what will happen next with Brexit, we don’t want anyone to run out of time to complete the steps they need to. Our advice, therefore, for anyone considering registering in another EU Member State before Exit Day is to contact us as soon as possible so we can provide individual advice on the steps you will need to take and process any documents you might need.

We will continue to share with you information on how the regulation of architects may change whenever we learn more. In the meantime, you can find frequently asked questions (and answers), links to useful information, EU related Register statistics and more on our dedicated Brexit webpages: www.arb.org.uk/brexit
