In response to the recommendations of Dame Judith Hackitt following the Grenfell Tower tragedy, the Competency Standards Group have set out proposals to improve the competence of those involved in the lifecycle of Higher-Risk Residential Buildings (HRRBs).

The interim report, Raising the Bar, recently published by this group of over 150 construction and fire organisations includes a recommendation for a new competence framework for those working on HRRBs, overseen by a new regulatory committee.

The report’s proposals could have a significant impact on any architect working on buildings in scope, and the Group are asking for consultation responses by no later than 18 October 2019.

Consultations responses should be sent to: enquiries@cic.org.uk
