The EU Exit transition period ends at 11pm on 31 December 2020. We are working to ensure that functional regulatory systems are in place with the information currently available to us, and we will provide guidance on those systems once they are established.

In the meantime, if you’re looking to register in the EU, we recommend doing so as soon as possible under the current regulatory system by following the steps below:

  • Contact the Competent Authority in the relevant EU Member State for confirmation of their registration requirements for your particular circumstances.  A list of their details can be found here.

We are currently experiencing a high demand for certificates, and as a result it is taking 10 working days on average to process requests.

If you require a certificate, please ensure you submit your request at the earliest opportunity and leave sufficient time for your request to be processed. To avoid any delays, please also make sure you provide us with the necessary information to avoid your request being delayed.  Once you have submitted your request, there is no need to re-contact us. Your certificate will be dispatched automatically once it has been processed and we will be in touch should we require any further information from you.

EEA and Swiss qualified architects who are hoping to register in the UK, but have not yet done so, should also consider this Government guidance.

Please pass this information on to anyone you think may be looking to register as an architect in the UK or EU in the near future.
